DISADVANTAGES OF SPORT
There are many disadvantages to sport that can be significant in the development and well being of the people that practice it. As previously said sports can help the body in many different ways, however, if abused it can cause permanent damage to cartilages and significantly reduce bone growth. Too much training can cause athletes to exhaustion, everyone has its limits and pushing further could cause injuries. This shows that sports can also lead to mental diseases such as eating disorders. Some children can lead themselves to lower their self-esteem to the point that they are worried to perform and show their skills in public, as they can't rely on them.
Sport can also cause conflicts between teammates who want to win and don't permit any kind of mistake. This can then lead to bullying and exclusion. Even though coaches always try to include everyone there is a constant feeling of competition which then reflects the decisions taken during tournaments or matches (Reference, 2019).
Sport is physical exercise and in most cases, the body is required. This then causes physical harm such as broken bones, muscle strains, and other injuries that could be temporary or permanent.
Sportsmen want to extrapolate the best performances out of their body, however, just like every other human, they too have limits that can't be trespassed. They use drugs to enhance the performance, which they have a myriad of collateral impacts and a constant need in future. Sport is a very good way of competing and comparing your skills with others, however just like everything there should be a balance in the level of the time taken practicing and the competitiveness during the tournament or race (Help and Sciences, 2019).
